Tiimo and Saner.ai both promise a calmer day for ADHD brains. They get there from opposite ends.

Tiimo turns your day into a picture. Colored blocks, friendly icons, a timer that shows time draining away instead of hiding it. Saner.ai turns your mess into a plan. It reads your email, notes and calendar, pulls out what needs doing, and checks in on you.

One is built for seeing time. The other is built so you stop holding everything in your head. Different problems. Different tools. Which one helps depends on what's breaking your days right now.

## Quick answer: Saner.ai or Tiimo for ADHD?

- **Pick Tiimo** if time blindness is your main problem, you think in pictures more than lists, you want gentle structure for routines at home as well as at work, or you're planning for a family.
- **Pick Saner.ai** if your problem is "I can't keep track of what I've committed to and I can't get started" It's built for people who have a big number of tasks buried in email, meeting notes and their heads
- **Budget:** both have a free tier.

Short version: Tiimo shows you your day. Saner.ai builds the list of what goes in it.

## What's the real difference between Tiimo and Saner.ai?

### Tiimo: a visual planner that makes time visible

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/99/b0/99b001cf-099d-4600-ba8b-c373f317b704/content/images/2026/10/image-75.png)

Tiimo is a planner designed for ADHD and autistic brains. According to its App Store listing, the core features are a color-coded visual schedule, a to-do list where you can brain dump and let ut group tasks by priority, a calming focus timer, home and lock screen widgets. It syncs with Apple Calendar and Reminders, and you can share up to five profiles with family.

Tiimo's strength is the experience. It feels calm. On purpose. If you've ever opened a calendar, seen a wall of text and closed it again, Tiimo was made for you.

\>> I covered it in depth in my [Tiimo review](https://adhdproductivity.org/tiimo-review/).

### Saner.ai: an AI assistant that turns scattered info into a schedule

![Saner.ai: an AI assistant that turns scattered info into a schedule](https://storage.ghost.io/c/99/b0/99b001cf-099d-4600-ba8b-c373f317b704/content/images/2026/10/Homepage.png)

Saner.ai describes itself as an [AI personal assistant for notes, email and calendar](https://www.saner.ai/?ref=adhdproductivity.org). It connects to Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack and Google Drive, plus Outlook. It pulls tasks out of emails and notes, proactively plans your day and checks in.

You can also search your notes by meaning, even when you don't remember the exact words, and talk to its assistant, Skai, to schedule or find things.

Saner.ai is less of a visual planner and more of a second brain with a task system attached. It has a timeline view of your tasks, but nobody would mistake it for Tiimo's colorful day.

## Which ADHD problem are you actually trying to solve?

This is the question that decides it. ADHD comes with a bundle of problems. These apps target different ones.

### If time blindness is your main problem

There's solid evidence that ADHD affects how people perceive time. A [2022 meta-analysis of 55 studies](https://eprints.soton.ac.uk/456003?ref=adhdproductivity.org) in the Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry found that people with ADHD had a broad range of timing difficulties. They struggled more to tell very short durations apart and were more variable when estimating durations of several seconds.

![tiimo](https://storage.ghost.io/c/99/b0/99b001cf-099d-4600-ba8b-c373f317b704/content/images/2026/10/image-77.png)

Still, if "where did the time go?" is your daily experience, a tool that shows time visually is a sensible fix. That's Tiimo's home turf.

\>> If this is your struggle, also read my guide to [ADHD time blindness](https://adhdproductivity.org/adhd-time-blindness/).

### If planning itself is your main problem

Some people can see their day fine. They just can't build it. A [2013 study in PLOS ONE](https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0058338?ref=adhdproductivity.org) compared 45 adults with ADHD to 45 matched controls on a complex "remember to do things later" task. The biggest difference was in *making the plan*. Remembering the plan, starting on their own and carrying it out showed only negligible to small differences.

![If planning itself is your main problem - saner.ai](https://storage.ghost.io/c/99/b0/99b001cf-099d-4600-ba8b-c373f317b704/content/images/2026/10/image-76.png)

The hard part is turning a chaotic inbox, five notes apps and a head full of half-commitments into a schedule. That's where an assistant that pulls tasks out of your mess, like Saner.ai, earns its place.

### If it's both

Plenty of people have both problems. In that case, the useful question is which one costs you more. Missed deadlines and forgotten promises point to Saner.ai. Constantly running late and losing hours point to Tiimo.

## Where Tiimo wins for ADHD

![Where Tiimo wins for ADHD](https://storage.ghost.io/c/99/b0/99b001cf-099d-4600-ba8b-c373f317b704/content/images/2026/10/image-82.png)

### It makes time something you can see

Tiimo's whole design is built around making time visible: blocks on a timeline, a focus timer that shows time passing, widgets that keep your current task in view. Saner.ai can schedule your tasks, but it doesn't give you that visual sense of the day flowing. If you need to *see* your afternoon to understand it, Tiimo is the better tool.

### It's gentler

![It's gentler](https://storage.ghost.io/c/99/b0/99b001cf-099d-4600-ba8b-c373f317b704/content/images/2026/10/image-78.png)

Soft colors. Friendly icons. No wall of text. For people who feel stress the moment they open a productivity app, that tone matters more than any feature list.

### It works on more devices

Apple Watch support means your current task can live on your wrist.

## Where Saner.ai wins for ADHD

![Where Saner.ai wins Tiimo for ADHD](https://storage.ghost.io/c/99/b0/99b001cf-099d-4600-ba8b-c373f317b704/content/images/2026/10/image-81.png)

### It finds the tasks you didn't write down

This is the big one. Tiimo can only show you what's been put into it. If a commitment arrives in paragraph three of an email and never makes it into your planner, no timeline will save you. Saner.ai reads connected email and notes and turns things into tasks with the original context attached.

![saner.ai finds the tasks you didn't write down](https://storage.ghost.io/c/99/b0/99b001cf-099d-4600-ba8b-c373f317b704/content/images/2026/10/image-79.png)

If your inbox is where promises go to die, my post on [using AI for email with ADHD](https://adhdproductivity.org/ai-for-email-adhd/) goes deeper.

### It doubles as your second brain

Saner.ai stores notes, PDFs and ideas, and lets you search them by meaning. So the "what did that client say about the budget?" question and the "what am I doing today?" question live in the same place. Tiimo doesn't try to be a notes app.

![It doubles as your second brain](https://storage.ghost.io/c/99/b0/99b001cf-099d-4600-ba8b-c373f317b704/content/images/2026/10/ask-AI-notes.png)

### It checks in instead of waiting

Saner.ai proactively plans your day and checks in. For ADHD brains, an app that comes to you beats an app you have to remember to open. Tiimo's widgets help with visibility, but the planning still starts with you.

---

### Where Tiimo falls short for ADHD

- **It only knows what you tell it.** Tasks buried in email or meeting notes stay buried unless you move them.
- **Not a knowledge base.** No place for long notes, documents or research.
- **Calendar sync has limits.** .
- **The playful style isn't for everyone.** If you share your screen in work meetings, cartoon icons may not be your vibe.

### Where Saner.ai falls short

- **It's not visual in the way Tiimo is.** If you need colorful blocks and a draining timer to understand your day, Saner.ai won't scratch that itch.
- **It's built for knowledge work.** It shines with email, documents and meetings, and feels less natural for chores, routines and family schedules.
- **No family sharing.** It's built for one person.

## How to choose between Tiimo and Saner.AI

## How to test both in two weeks

1. **Week 1: Tiimo free.** Build one routine (mornings work well) and one workday. Notice whether seeing the day changes how you move through it.
2. **Week 2: Saner.ai free.** Connect email and calendar only. Notice whether you stop forgetting commitments.
3. **Count honestly.** Which app did you open without being reminded? Which week had fewer dropped balls?
4. **Then pay for one, not both.** Add the second later only if there's a clear gap.

Free tiers exist for exactly this. Use them before any subscription.

## My thoughts:

Tiimo helps you see your time. Saner.ai helps you find your tasks. Both are real ADHD problems, and you probably have one more than the other.

What to do this week:

- **Name your bigger problem in one sentence.** "I lose track of time" or "I lose track of commitments."
- **Start with the matching free tier.** Tiimo for time, Saner.ai for commitments.
- **Use it for seven days before judging.** Day one with any planner is either magic or chaos. Neither tells you much.
- **Only add the other app if a gap is obvious.**
